Here are some things I hear on a frequent basis. I am slammed, buried, drowning, in the weeds, running ragged, etc. You get the idea. Many of us are guilty of saying these types of things several times a week.
This week’s post is going to be simple as we are going to maximize our time. First, we all have a limited amount of time. As a matter of fact, it’s 24 hours in a day. No more and no less. This is the same for every human being, thus it can be our greatest ally or our worst enemy.
Second, listen to how often people say things like this. “You see, Ryan, I did not have enough time to (read, exercise, study, prepare, etc.).” Thus, I want to challenge all of us to change our thinking.
The change is that we no longer allow ourselves to make the excuse that we did not have time to do “xyz,” and instead say that we did not MAKE time to do “xyz.” You see, life is a series of choices. We either define the moment or let the moment define us. This is why some people seemingly get a lot more done in a week than others. Thus, I encourage you to listen to this Perception is Reality podcast that I recorded that goes into greater detail on this subject. And, note this issue is one we all face in a rapidly changing, moving and seemingly impersonal world.
Have a great week and I encourage you and me alike to use our time in a deliberate and purposeful manner. Remember, when it comes to our time, we can’t get more of it and we can’t get it back. Have a great week.
