Editor-in-Chief Mark Michelson discusses the commentary he wrote this week about the mishandling of the 2020 US Census contract by the GPO, which was initially awarded to Cenveo for $66 million. Speaking of Cenveo, Printing Impressions just learned that a U.S. Bankruptcy Court judge approved its amended reorganization plan, paving the way for the printer to exit Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection within the next few weeks.
Michelson also authored an article about surcharges now being charged by lithographic printing plate manufacturers as a result of the 10% aluminum import tariffs that were imposed by the Trump administration. Fuji, Agfa and Kodak have all filed for exemptions with the Department of Commerce.
He also moderated an insightful webinar about how to sell digital printing to agencies, marketers and designers. Featuring executives from advertising agency Square Root Creative, the free one-hour webinar provided a host of valuable information. It can still be viewed on-demand.
