Forecast: Sales Headwind
I have a very simple message for you in today’s blog. It’s something I feel compelled to share because my guess is you are struggling. Calls are not being returned or even acknowledged. You are seeking some form of recognition — anything — but day after day and week after week, you spend your sales day shouting into the abyss.
And even worse …
You’re beginning to feel like you are the only one in the situation. You’ve practically convinced yourself it’s something you’re doing or not doing, something you’re saying or not saying. Whatever the problem is, is unique to you and it is completely your fault.
As someone who speaks to a lot of salespeople and owners across the country, I want to take it upon myself to let you know:
You are not alone.
Everyone in sales is struggling. Customers are not picking up calls. Projects are on hold. Uncertainty. Fear. Anxiety. All of these are widespread.
If this were a weather forecast, it’d be for a sales headwind.
It’s not you. It’s not something you’re doing. It’s not something you’re not doing.
I cannot tell you when this will end. I just wanted to tell you this in the hopes it gives you some level of comfort.
Most sales people quit at this point. Will you?
Your competition has quit. Will you?
My advice: Keep selling. Don’t stop. Assume everyone WILL buy you, just not today. In fact, try convincing yourself it’s 100% going to happen.
Study business trends. Hone a positive message. Create a prospecting process and then hit it hard.
We are ALL facing the headwind right now. Customers are afraid. Doubt is everywhere.
Succeed despite the obstacles.
