Sitting in a motivational seminar, you get several great ideas from the speaker on growing your company (how to do THAT). And then you can hardly wait to get back to the office to start implementing all "that."
Then you meet a constituent in the hallway, during a break. They share something they've done in their company, and they're adamant that you should also do THAT.
Your head begins to spin as you begin thinking of the thousand things you need to do. But, how to get started on all THAT!?
Okay...so you need to get your company ready for a possible OSHA inspection; need to upgrade the company Website; hire a new manager for a key department; upgrade equipment in production; have face-to-face meetings with key clients; and sign up for a "Grow Your Sales" Webinar, that you've been meaning to do.
Here's more of THAT...it's important to read the great blogs that PI World delivers in print and online; meet with an IT company to make sure your network is up to date; have that tax and financial planning meeting you've been avoiding; attend your local industry association's monthly meeting; and, for sure, call your congressman and give him a piece of your mind about that stupid bill he voted for!
Of course, social media is all the rage and you'd best get cracking on THAT. Your MIS program (that you paid thousands for) needs to be fully implemented, since you've only been using a few modules for the past five years.
In the meantime, you need to help your wife with your daughter's upcoming garden wedding (for you, that means painting the fence, debugging the lawn, and repaving the driveway); attend your son's baseball game (as coach, of course, you need to be at all the practices). And, oh, it's time to plan the family vacation—you promised! YES, you really do need to do THAT!
