IntegraColor Boosts Digital
MESQUITE, TX—IntegraColor Ltd. announced that it has acquired Dallas-based digital print firm The Color Place. The acquisition will extend Integra- Color's assets for digital printing in both small and grand formats, permanent and promotional signage, and will also facilitate expansion into quick turn, short-run projects. The deal is expected to add an additional $15 to $20 million to its 2010-2011 revenues. IntegraColor intends to retain The Color Place team, consolidating equipment and personnel into its headquarters in Mesquite.
Worldcolor Closing Dyersburg
MONTREAL—Worldcolor is closing its Dyersburg, TN, facility by the first quarter of 2011, the Dyersburg State Gazette said. The move will result in the loss of about 668 jobs. The facility provides web offset and rotogravure printing. The closure will be phased in over a period of months, concluding in the first quarter of 2011.
Acme Mourns Loss of Miller
DES MOINES, IA—Jerry Miller, 69, president of Acme Printing located here, died April 1, three days after suffering a stroke, the Des Moines Register reported. Mr. Miller purchased Acme Printing in 1976 and grew the business to more than $14 million in sales. The company will now be guided by a three-person executive team consisting of Dennis Crane, vice president of production; Talena Mayfield, vice president of sales and marketing; and Dennis Sissel, vice president of finance.
Humphrey Printing Shuttered
WICHITA FALLS, TX—General commercial printer Humphrey Printing has ceased operations, the Times Record News reported. The closure will leave 30 workers without jobs. Humphrey produced business forms, letterhead, annual reports, brochures and books, among other things, according to the newspaper.
Hagadone CEO to Step Down
HONOLULU—Erwin Hudelist, president of Hagadone Printing, will exit his post later this year due to health issues, the Honolulu Advertiser is reporting. The Austrian-born Hudelist has been at the helm of Hagadone Printing since 1998. A successor has not been chosen.
