This week we have a short blog post...with special thanks to Vanilla Ice. Why a short post? We are all busy, slammed, buried—you know the drill. New research suggests we keep our attention/focus less than 15 seconds. So, here we go and we will only focus on the word STOP. Sorry for shortening this, Vanilla Ice, but the 80’s are gone, so I have a new rendition.
S: Simple (keep things uncomplicated). Don’t make easy things more difficult than they need to be. In other words put last things last...so you can get to what matters.
T: Time Out (slow down and breathe) the antidote to this fast moving world is the realization we cannot outrun things and there is only so much time in the day. We are human beings (not doings). So take time and reflect on where you are heading.
O: Open-minded (being receptive to new ideas). Are you willing to admit there may be a better way to do things? Are you eager to learn from others and open to new suggestions?
P: Passion (your excitement and energy). Do you want it more than the other guy? Passion is contagious and makes me want to be around certain people. How much passion is in your tank?
Ok, that’s it. Please think about this and we will now STOP!
