Close Your Sales Ring
When Apple Fitness was introduced, the phrase, “Close your rings” became a daily reminder, popping up on my Apple watch nightly to inform me how many minutes of exercise I needed in order to reach my exercise goal.
It’s a notification I could turn off if I chose to, but I allow it to keep my mind focused on movement. 10 minutes prior to every hour, if I’ve been sitting for too long, the watch encourages me to get up and move and then rewards me with an electronic “way to go” message if I do.
Apple has discovered its so-called “wearable technology” gives fitness advice and exercise options as well as to remind, encourage, and praise good behavior.
Now, if they could only send an electronic zap every time I reach for a handful of M&Ms, they’d really have something!
What if you could receive a reminder at, say, 4 pm every day with the message: “Close your sales ring.” Assuming you have a daily sales activity goal, this would be your prompt to reach it.
Turns out, you have this capability already.
Create an alarm and set it to go off every workday. When you hear it, you complete your sales call goal or get a few calls in. It would be the equivalent of going for a swift walk around the block.
How many times after your selling day do you realize you put in zero sales growth effort again? It might take a little getting used to, but there is no better way to stay sales focused than a daily reminder.
