With much of the country mired in the dead of winter, roughly 100 clients and journalists witnessed Glendale, CA-based 4Over taking the wraps off its sixth production facility, a 50,000-square-foot plant here, under warm, sunny skies, as shown in the photo below.
CHICAGO—4Over Inc., a trade printer based in Glendale, CA, announced it was opening three new production facilities. The revelation came during a Komori press conference at Graph Expo here. The plants will be located in Miami, Dallas and Newark, NJ. Each plant will be equipped with Komori presses, Polar cutters and Kodak CTP systems. The company is also launching a wide-format division, featuring HP devices, in 2009.
Open House Offers Cash Grab CHATSWORTH, CA—Impress Communications recently hosted an open house at its new facility here, which included a drawing to participate in a $50K Cash Grab Money Booth. Winners of the drawing had a chance to “test their skills” and grab as many airborne bills as they could in 15 seconds. Greg Wayne, director of manufacturing for California Offset Printers (COP) in Glendale, CA, was the winning finalist in the third annual GATF/SGI Web Press Skills Competition. Sponsored by the Graphic Arts Technical Foundation, Sinapse Graphic International and MAN Roland, the contest used the SIR Heatset Web Offset Training Simulator, a virtual press, to present problem solving exercises. The competition took place during the Web Offset Association's annual conference.
