Buechel has been a dedicated employee of The Segerdahl Group for 30 years where he began his career as a packer and has worked his way up to his current role of pressroom manager.

Fire at Flint Group's Manufacturing Site in Slough, UK

An explosion occurred at Flint Group’s manufacturing site in Slough, UK followed by a fire. The site was evacuated and the fire was quickly brought under control by local fire brigades. The cause of the explosion is not known yet.

PLYMOUTH, MI—July 8, 2008—The printing ink industry continues to experience unprecedented increases in all of our raw materials – pigments, chemicals, freight and packaging. These increases are directly and indirectly related to crude oil increases as well as large swings in the manufacturing capacity of some of the primary raw material manufacturers. As a result of the surcharges and price increases imposed on our business, Flint Group is forced to pass these increases on to their customers. Crude Oil Prices Push Up Ink Costs

PLYMOUTH, MI/WEST CHICAGO, IL—Rising crude oil prices continue to put pressure on ink makers to find ways to recoup cost increases. Imposing a surcharge of $0.10/lb. on all heatset, coldset and news inks, is the approach being taken by the Flint Group North America Publication and News Inks divisions. Central Ink is implementing a range of price increases, including $0.12/lb. on all non-heatset black inks and 8 percent on colors, as well as a flat 6 percent for all heatset inks. PLYMOUTH, MI—June, 23 2008—Today, Flint Group North America Publication and News Inks Divisions announced a crude oil surcharge on all heatset, coldset and news inks, effective July 1, 2008. Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group has made a contribution of $85,000 to the New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH). The contribution provides funding to build a house in an area that was devastated by Hurricane Katrina. Kodak employees and customers were invited to volunteer to help build the new home.
