Organizers of the thINK 2016 Conference might have been thinking more about Community Shelters than they were about the overall conference theme, “The Power of Community,” as Hurricane Matthew barrelled directly toward the eastern coast of South Florida just days before the kickoff of the second-annual thINK Conference, held here from Oct. 10-12th. But, in the end, the eye of the storm remained offshore, causing minimal damage to the area and few incoming flight interruptions.
Two major industry events recently took place in Florida, about 10 days and some 200 miles apart: Graph Expo and thINK. Granted, it’s a bit unfair to compare commercial printing’s most important U.S. trade show to what’s rapidly become the world’s largest inkjet user conference. But they do illustrate an industry shift.
Last week I went to Boca Raton, Fla., for the 2016 thINK Conference. The sessions that I attended were well done and thought provoking.
