Royle Printing, a family-owned commercial printer serving brands nationwide since 1948, has been awarded a WisTRAIN grant from the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD) to train 45 current team members in applied artificial intelligence.
Governor Tony Evers and DWD announced $6.6 million in WisTRAIN grants on October 13 to kick off Manufacturing Month. The grants will train 3,823 workers at 84 Wisconsin employers in advanced manufacturing and AI.
About WisTRAIN
WisTRAIN (Wisconsin Training for Resilient Advanced Industry Needs) is a new employer grant program that funds hands-on skills training in advanced manufacturing and AI. It is supported by federal funds through the U.S. Department of Labor’s Industry-Driven Skills Training Fund; Wisconsin is one of 14 states to receive one. The program aims to help workers keep pace with changing technology, expand access to industry-recognized credentials and strengthen partnerships between employers and educators.
Training across the business
Royle’s training will be delivered by WiscAI Inc. and will reach team members across three areas of the company:
- Production operations: press, bindery and mailing teams
- Sales and marketing: teams that help customers plan campaigns and meet in-home dates
- Finance and IT: teams that support quoting, billing and company systems
The focus is practical, applied skills that reduce friction in the work surrounding the press, including quicker answers on quotes and schedules, smarter production planning and more time spent working directly with customers.
The grant reflects Royle’s continued investment in its people and technology as brands increasingly turn to print, including catalogs and direct mail, to reach customers.
