Printing Industries Alliance Schedules Employee Free Choice Act Webinars
AMHERST, NY—November 5, 2008—The “Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) is expected to become law in 2009. This law fundamentally changes over 70 years of United States Labor Law and eliminates free speech, free choice and free enterprise.
If passed, EFCA will effectively eliminate secret ballot elections for employees to decide whether they want to be represented by a union, eliminate the opportunity for employees to learn about unions prior to deciding if they want to belong to one, compel companies to accept binding arbitration for first contracts even if the contract terms will put them out of business, and significantly increase employer fines if they are found to have committed an unfair labor practice.
Over the next 2 months, Printing Industries Alliance will be sponsoring two webinars on the Employee Free Choice Act.
Webinars are being presented on Friday, November 21, 2008 at 12:00 noon (Eastern time) and Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. (Eastern time). The webinars are being presented by Nicholas Fiorenza, Managing Partner of the Ferrara, Fiorenza, Garrison, Barrett & Reitz law firm and General Counsel to the Printing Industries Alliance. Ferrara, Fiorenza law firm is one of the leading labor law firms in the Northeast and provides legal counsel to graphic arts firms across the United States.
