Jim Beach, 90, Maintains Machines at Publishers Printing

When Jim Beach came to work as a maintenance technician at Publishers Printing in Shepherdsville (KY) 25 years ago, he had a wealth of experience. He was 65 at the time and had already worked at an open pit quicksilver mine for the Bradley Mining Co. of San Francisco, served in the Army until 1945, lived with a family where he learned about tool making, drove a city bus in Columbus for two years and spent 27 years working for Naval Ordnance.

At Publishers...he works three eight-hour days a week and lives in Payneville, driving to work 41 miles each way.
