Printing Impressions' Upfront Commercial Printing Industry News for May 2009

RICHMOND, VA—Employee-owned Worth Higgins & Associates has acquired Billet Printing of Manassas, VA. In addition, the account executives and employees of the former Colonial Printing in Richmond have joined Worth Higgins. The new assets are expected to generate an additional $8 million in annual sales. The company also plans to hire an additional 40 or so employees during 2009 and will break ground on a 30,000-square-foot addition to its facility.

Heidelberg USA has announced that Graphics Innovations of Richmond, Va. is the first U.S. customer to extend its Systemservice 36plus program, following three years of successful results. The company, one of the first to experience the benefits of Systemservice 36plus, has chosen to partner with Heidelberg Systemservice for an additional two years by purchasing the Heidelberg Partner Program Full Service Agreement. The initial suite of services was included with the purchase of the shop’s new 6-color Speedmaster SM 102 press more than three years ago.
