Heidelberg USA’s small format demo center in Buffalo Grove, IL recently hosted an Open House for printers interested in learning about the Heidelberg Speedmaster 52 press with Anicolor. The event was the second in a series of seven open houses to be held this calendar year at the Buffalo Grove facility, which functions as Heidelberg USA’s small-format printing demonstration center.

For printing company CEOs and senior managers, few production issues have greater potential to ruin an innocent night’s sleep than anxiety about money, specifically, how to save more of it by doing things faster and more efficiently. In a series of seminars scheduled to take place in five U.S. cities this summer, Heidelberg is out to show printers how to optimize production and raise all-around shop efficiency and competitiveness by working to standards, following procedures, and implementing appropriate training.

Millennium Press, Agawam, Mass. installed its first Heidelberg press a decade ago and its most recent – a 6-color Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 75 with Prinect Press Center and Prinect Peak Performance Package – in 2007. In between, in a prescient move, the company added Heidelberg’s Prinect Prinance MIS, as well as a Suprasetter 75 thermal CtP system with Prinect Printready prepress workflow (since upgraded to Prinect Prepress Manager). It has continued to extend and build its suite of Prinect workflow solutions in modular fashion to become the first fully “Prinected” print shop (MIS to press with web connectivity to Millennium customers) in the U.S. last year.

Print media market leader Heidelberg USA has launched a new web portal dedicated to exploring sustainable solutions for the printing industry. Given its longstanding commitment to environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, Heidelberg is uniquely positioned to provide this comprehensive resource for printers and print buyers who want to learn more about sustainable printing and the positive impact it can have on their businesses — minus the greenwashing and marketing hype.
