Digital Printing-Wide Format - Hybrid
Based in Fort Wayne, IN, DataPrint Initiatives has purchased an EFI H1625 LED wide-format printer to fulfill a new contract for industrial production of regulatory signage. The company is installing the printer following its move into a new, larger 8,000-square-foot facility, which offers more space for wide-format graphics production.
Another successful Wide-Format Technology Summit was hosted by Fujifilm North America, Graphic Systems Division, this time at the company's all-new Chicago Technology Center in Hanover Park, IL. Nearly 50 people were in attendance to experience inkjet innovations and wide-format print applications, and also receive a tour of the new 23,000-square-foot facility.
Based in Norwood, MA, Instant Sign Center provides graphics services to the construction, real estate, retail, trade show display and other markets. It recently purchased an EFI VUTEk QS2 Pro UV hybrid roll/flatbed inkjet printer and transitioned its production operations to an EFI Fiery proServer production workflow.
The typical landscape for U.S. printing industry trade shows today is dotted with smaller booths, fewer attendees and less equipment on display. But that wasn't the case at the recent 2014 SGIA Expo held at the Las Vegas Convention Center October 22-24. SGIA set not one, but two, new records: largest attended SGIA Expo ever, with 25,500 registered attendees; and most exhibitors, with 541 exhibitors filling 223,000 square feet of floor space.
The winners of the Golden Image Competition and the Tom Frecska Student Printing Competition were honored at the SGIA Expo in Las Vegas last month. Award recipients were chosen for achieving imaging excellence and displaying exceptional expertise in their field.
After evaluating a number of different offerings, AlphaGraphics installed an EFI H1625 LED wide-format printer at its center in Suwanne, GA. The production printer model is a hybrid roll/flatbed device that includes industry-leading white ink and EFI’s "cool cure" LED inkjet technology and it is the latest in a series of upgrades that have helped to expand AlphaGraphics' business.
At the ReproMAX 30th anniversary conference recently held in Las Vegas, Capital Imaging of Lansing, MI, and Beeline and Blue of Des Moines, IA, were selected as Partners of the Year; and HP was named Vendor of the Year.
This year's SGIA Product of the Year competition was held at the 2014 Expo in Las Vegas, October 22-24. The contest showcased the best printers, technologies and consumables from the specialty imaging community. "Whether they were a seasoned company or an industry newcomer, each and every entry came to win," said Ray Weiss, SGIA’s digital imaging specialist.
The new Anapurna M2500i with optional automated board feeder (ABF) will be demonstrated by Agfa Graphics at its booth during the SGIA Expo in Las Vegas, from October 22-24. The Anapurna M2500i is the most recent i-series introduction, offering printing systems with higher productivity and quality.
