Watch this week's Short Attention Span Sales Tip here.
Good morning!
As a sales rep, how do you know if you are doing your job? The obvious answer is, because you're selling something. But what if you're a new salesperson and you have nothing tangible to show for your efforts?
Sales can feel chaotic, especially in your first 6–12 months. It’s easy to question if what you’re doing is working when you don’t see results right away. But here’s your North Star:
Trust
The
Process.
Success in sales follows a pattern: Activities → Opportunities → Sales. If you’re putting in the work—targeting the right people, making well-researched calls, following a process with diligence, then success will follow. Repeat:
Success
Will
Follow.
At the end of your day, don’t judge yourself by whether you made a sale. Judge yourself by whether you executed the process. Did you do the research? Did you make the calls? Did you follow up?
You’re building momentum. Each interaction is a brick in the foundation of future success. Some of your best clients will come months after your first call, not the day of.
