New Facility For Graphcom
ATLANTA—Following four years of double-digit growth, Michael D. First, president of Graphcom Inc., announced that his company more than tripled the size of its production facility with a move to a new location. The company increased its plant size from 22,000 square feet to 69,000 square feet. Graphcom began operations in its new facility at Defoor Hills Road in December.
During the move, Graphcom installed a new six-color, 40˝ Komori press with in-line aqueous coating and a new DisplayMaker digital printer for producing indoor/outdoor posters and signage.
"Our customers will benefit greatly from the increased efficiency that this new facility and new equipment provide," First remarks. "We're also delighted that the increase in space will allow us to significantly expand our fulfillment and customer warehousing operations."
With more than 70 employees and $9.2 million in annual sales, Graphcom is one of Georgia's largest, privately owned commercial printing companies. First founded the company in 1987 and began operations with seven employees. In the last four years alone, Graphcom has increased its sales by more than 50 percent and has grown its work force from 45 to the current 73 employees. During this time, Graphcom has also won accolades for its print quality in the Print Excellence Competition hosted by Printing Industry Association of Georgia.
"During the past 13 years, we have focused on building relationships with customers, vendors and employees," explains First. "Our company has always recognized that these relationships are the keys to being successful. In the midst of a tight labor market and heavy consolidation among vendors and printers, this commitment to people remains our cornerstone."
