Industry Mourns Passing of Sendor, Armstrong
NEW YORK—Bernard Sendor, a leading figure in New York City's graphic arts industry for more than 60 years, passed away Sunday. A resident of Westbury, NY, he was 90 years old. Mr. Sendor was still working as a technical consultant at Bassil Book Binding of Little Ferry, NJ. On June 3 and 4, he directed the case binding of an Andy Warhol art book and the official Tony Awards book, a publication he bound each year for more than 30 years.
Edward "Pete" Armstrong, chairman of McCormick-Armstrong Co., died Monday at the age of 88, the Wichita Journal reported. Mr. Armstrong joined the firm co-founded by his father and took over as president and CEO in 1968. Prior to his death, Armstong served as chairman and director of McCormick-Armstrong and its subsidiaries, High Plains Publishers of Dodge City, KS, and Terrell Publishing of Kansas City, MO. Mr. Armstrong served as president of the Printing Industries of Wichita and the Printing Industries of Mid-America.
