GPS Garners $164M State Department Contract

WASHINGTON, DC—The Department of State has awarded a 10-year contract worth $164 million to Global Publishing Solutions, its in-house printing and publishing organization based in Manila.

The award capped an 18-month public/private company competition, pitting the government’s ability to provide a commercial service against the private sector. Competitive sourcing is one of five government-wide initiatives of the president’s Management Agenda, which is the administration’s strategy for improving the management and performance of the federal government.
