Ghent Workgroup to Hold Seminar in Chicago
GHENT, BELGIUM—April 11, 2011—The Ghent Workgroup (GWG) is pleased to extend a special invitation to printers, publishers and designers to attend a free, live seminar in Chicago on Wednesday, April 27. Attendees will hear from top software developers, publishers, analysts, printers and industry experts about the newest GWG specifications, how to avoid problems by using GWG test suites, and more. The GWG is holding its quarterly meeting in Chicago the same week.
The first-come, first-served seminar will take place on April 27, from 1:30-5:30 p.m. at The Conference Center at UBS Tower in Chicago, in the Michigan I room. Registration is required.
David Zwang, GWG Chairman, said, “We’re excited to open up this seminar to those who use our specifications and best practices—or to help educate those who don’t—so that everyone can benefit from our latest initiatives.
“Attendees have a chance to engage with our powerhouse team, comprised of top vendors and associations from around the world, live and in-person. This is a really unique opportunity to tap into what GWG has been up to, and learn how to make publishing production a seamless, high quality and low stress undertaking,” Zwang added.
GWG production subcommittees include those focused on PDF preflight specifications, color management, office printing, packaging, job ticketing, process control—and the newest: cross-media publishing.
Recent work includes success in defining and handling of special and spot colors in PDF workflows for packaging; where PDF implementation has been slower due to inherent differences in packaging production as compared to most graphic arts processes.
