Company: ARC Document Solutions – Riot Creative
Pretend this is an elevator pitch. Tell me a little bit about your company?
ARC Document Solutions is a national digital printing and technology services company with approximately 140 locations. Through ARC and our Riot Creative Imaging brand, we help some of the largest organizations in the country with visual graphics, signage, large-format printing, document scanning, managed print services, and technology solutions.
What makes ARC different is our ability to combine national scale with strong local production. We can support a customer across the country while still producing and servicing their work close to where they operate.
If you’re a first-time attendee, what are you hoping to learn. If you’re returning, what brings you back?
I have attended the Expo many times, and I continue to come back because it brings so much of our industry together in one place. You can see new equipment, materials, software, automation, workflow technology, and applications while also having meaningful conversations with manufacturers, customers, and other print leaders.
Every year I try to leave the Expo with a few ideas that we can put into action at ARC.
Which products, brands, or services are you most looking forward to seeing this year?
I am especially interested in three areas. First, new digital printing and finishing technologies that improve productivity, quality, and speed. Second, automation and AI that can simplify workflows and help employees make better decisions. Third, sustainable substrates, inks, production methods, and technologies that can help us reduce waste while meeting the growing environmental expectations of our customers.
I am less focused on one specific manufacturer. I am looking for technologies that can create a measurable advantage for our customers and our operations.
How do you plan to maximize your time at the Expo?
I spend time with our major technology and manufacturing partners, but I also make a point of walking the entire show floor. Some of the best ideas can come from a company or technology you were not expecting to find.
I also spend time talking with other business owners and industry leaders. Equipment is important, but understanding where customers, applications, and the market are moving is equally valuable.
How do you think attending the Expo will impact your business or career?
PRINTING United helps me understand where our industry is going and where ARC should invest next. Sometimes that means equipment. Sometimes it is software, automation, materials, training, or a completely new service. The value of attending is taking what you learn and turning it into action. If I leave Las Vegas with two or three ideas that help our employees work smarter, help our customers succeed, or open a new market for ARC, the trip has been worthwhile.
Another 25+ ARC employees are attending the educational sessions hosted by PRINTING United. This is a good opportunity for us to listen and learn from others in the industry.
