Domino Extends Its Range of Variable Data Printing Solutions
GURNEE, IL—July 31, 2007—Domino Printing Sciences plc, a world-leader in total coding, marking, traceability and printing solutions will launch its L-Series ink jet solution for the mailing market, at this year’s Graph Expo. Making its world premier on the Domino booth (# 3852) will be the L400, the first product in Domino’s new L-Series range. To complement the L-Series, Domino will also launch its BaseLine mail table, designed specifically for ink jet applications.
Based on patented thermal ink jet technology, the Domino L400 is set to open up the market for addressing on direct mail, catalogs and magazines for Domino. It is suitable for virtually all sheet-feed mail base applications. The new L-Series can print to all USPS postal standards including the USPS Intelligent Mail® Barcode (formerly the 4-state Customer Barcode). The system delivers high resolution (600 x 300dpi) print, at 375 feet per minute and offers an extremely competitive price to performance ratio. A range of versatile inks and support programs will also be available with the L-Series.
Two demonstrations of the L400 plus BaseLine mail base solution will be shown on the Domino booth at Graph Expo; one for longer production runs in magazine and catalog addressing featuring bulk ink supply, shuttle feeder and exit shingle conveyor. The second system, configured for direct mail addressing, will incorporate a simple disposable cartridge ink supply together with a friction feeder.
Product Director of Commercial Print at Domino Printing Sciences, Philip Easton, underlines the significance of these Graph Expo launches: “Domino has set its sight on delivering complete solutions for the commercial printing and mailing sectors – including variable addressing, sequential numbering, text and graphics at real-world production speeds, and our proposition is hugely strengthened by the launch of the L400 and BaseLine mail base at Graph Expo.”
In addition to the new L-Series, Domino will present its K-Series piezo drop on demand print solution, which can be installed to complement existing offset or flexo presses for overprinting of numbers, graphics, barcodes and addresses to deliver high quality part- or full-personalization.
