PORTLAND—Premier Press has been certified by the Sustainable Green Printing Partnership SGP—the first full-service printer to be certified on the West Coast.
TEXAS
KILLEEN—A new Heidelberg Suprasetter A75 thermal platesetter with single cassette loader has been installed at Spectrum Printing, completing its transition from a film-based to digital workflow. The new CTP device images Heidelberg Saphira Chemfree plates for use in Spectrum's offset printing equipment.
RICHARDSON—Executive Press has replaced a violet platesetter with a Heidelberg Suprasetter A75 thermal CTP device. It is now imaging Saphira Chemfree plates for the company's four offset presses.
THE WOODLANDS—Since adding a Konica Minolta bizhub PRESS C8000 color digital press, Firehouse Printing has grown its color print production business by 18 percent. The shop is now able to offer customers heavy-stock postcards, direct mail flyers, catalogs, billing inserts and other marketing materials.
VIRGINIA
BEDFORD—Smyth Cos., a Minneapolis-based package label printer, has purchased an eight-color, 40˝ Mitsubishi Diamond 3000LX sheetfed press for its production facility here. It can accommodate the plant's wide range of paper and specialty nonporous substrates.
