Bartash Expands Executive Team with Jay Sterin as VP of Sales, Marketing
PHILADELPHIA — November 16, 2016 — Bartash has announced it has named Jay Sterin as the company’s VP of sales and marketing.
At Bartash Printing, a leading manufacturer of magazines, niche publications and newspapers, Jay will utilize his extensive sales experience to further drive customer acquisition as well as strategically manage existing accounts to maximize their full revenue potential.
“I’m delighted to welcome Jay to Bartash,” shares Bartash Owner Linda Simon. “Jay’s experience, most recently on the publishing side, brings an understanding and knowledge of the current challenges our clients face, and his knowledge and successful implementation of digital verticals into the publishing landscape will alsoprovide value added benefits not only to our existing clients but future clients as well. Jay’s appointment will help us build on our forward momentum and enable Bartash to further enhance its acquisition and growth strategies.”
Sterin has a long and successful history in the sales and marketing arenas, working within all levels of companies for over 30 years. Most recently he was a GM at Broad Street Media, the Philadelphia publisher of 12 local newspapers including Philadelphia Weekly. Prior to that Sterin worked with publishers in the digital space and in radio, where he has managed and run radio stations. While Sterin's experience has centered around the media space, his deep understanding of systems and people have allowed him to be industry agnostic in his approach to sales success. It is this holistic, collaborative sales approach that has separated him from others and what makes Sterin the perfect fit for Bartash at this time. In addition to leading and managing Bartash’s sales efforts, Sterin will spearhead Bartash’s marketing efforts as well. Throughout his career, Sterin has always enjoyed teaching and mentoring others. Along these lines, he is also an adjunct professor at Temple University. For the past ten years he has taught the sales and marketing course for Temple’s School of Communications.
Sterin comments, “The challenges facing the commercial printing industry are not unlike those of our publishers and other industries. The great news is the commitment the Bartash team has shown me and the desire to grow and adapt, is the right attitude for us to be at the top for many years to come. I am excited to be part of Bartash and to help the sales and marketing team achieve new levels of competitive advantage by collaborating and selling more effectively.”
Residing in Garnet Valley, Pa., Sterin earned his MBA from Babson College and his B.S. at Boston University. He holds many awards and certificates for sales leadership but prefers to share his individual accolades with those who worked with him side-by-side to get there.
