This 2017 Gold Ink Awards entry was entered into the Invitations category by Worth Higgins & Associates in Richmond, Va. The eight-component Children’s National Hospital Ball Invitation was sent to existing and potential donors for the hospital. What makes this invitation stand out are the gold and silver foil embellishments combined with a sophisticated and elegant design.
The invitation was designed by Workhorse Collective, a Washington-based design agency, and was produced on a mix of presses such as a Hamada H234K press, a Kluge foil stamp and embossing press, and a Komori Impremia IS29 UV sheetfed inkjet press with LED curing — the commercial printer served as the beta site for the Impremia IS29 that was installed last year. The Epic Black stock used in this invitation was from Neenah Paper.
The invitation was successful in achieving its goal as the gala raised over $3 million to support pediatric care and research.
