Rochester Institute of Technology Shutting Down Web Press

After 10 years of service, a Sunday 2000 web offset press consigned to Rochester Institute of Technology and its Printing Applications Lab is being dismantled. The lab reportedly will continue to operate digital presses from Kodak and HP, but six of the 13 full-time PAL employees will likely be out of jobs.

Brown Printing Set to Add New Goss Universalbinder Adhesive Binder

Brown Printing will install the 20,000-copies-per-hour binder with 24 hopper positions and full in-line ink jetting and mailing auxiliaries at its facility in Waseca, MN, this spring. “The new Goss binder will further expand the state-of-the-art print finishing capabilities—including advanced targeting, product personalization and co-mailing—that we deliver for catalog and publication customers,” explains Pat Bayer, engineering and IT director at Brown.
