Xitron Expands Offerings with Online Job Submission and Proofing Solution

ANN ARBOR, MI—May 12, 2008—Xitron, the prepress industry’s leading independent developer and integrator of Raster Image Processors, RIP management software and workflow solutions, today announced ExpressConnect, an online job submission and proofing solution for small and medium commercial printers. This new solution will be demonstrated at drupa, the world’s largest printing exhibition to be held in Düsseldorf, Germany, May 29-June 11 in Hall 9, Stand 9D 26-9.

ExpressConnect enhances the printer’s prepress department capabilities by extending its operation from normal business hours to a 24/7 operation. Customers submit their jobs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week utilizing ExpressConnect’s intuitive web browser interface. ExpressConnect automatically accepts, preflights the file and generates a soft proof of the job. Email notifications are sent automatically to the customer providing them with feedback regarding every step of the prepress process. ExpressConnect allows the printer to automate their prepress department.

Jobs are submitted to ExpressConnect through a simple user interface where basic job ticket information is entered by the customer. This information is then submitted along with the job to the printer’s CSR or prepress department. ExpressConnect integrates with Xitron’s Navigator GPS and Xenith workflow solutions. In addition to Xitron’s own workflow solutions, ExpressConnect will integrate with most other workflow solutions on the market today.

Xitron offers ExpressConnect as a bundled solution which includes a turnkey computer preloaded with ExpressConnect software. Training and installation is done onsite by a Xitron Support Specialist. ExpressConnect prices will begin at under $10,000 for a complete solution.
