Worker Suffers Serious Hand Injury in Baler Accident at Government Printing Office

WASHINGTON, DC—December 10, 2014—An employee working at the Government Printing Office (GPO) on the 700 block of North Capitol Street located here was seriously injured yesterday when his hand was caught in a paper baler, reported The Washington Post.
According to The Post, a GPO spokesman said that some fellow employees saw the man injure his hand and assisted him until emergency responders arrived on the scene.
The injured employee was taken to a hospital and was listed in critical condition after the accident, said Tim Wilson, a DC fire department spokesman.
The Government Printing Office is investigating what happened.
