Circuit Court Judge Lee Alford sentenced Walker to 10 years in prison, but he is eligible for parole in as little as two years. He must also pay restitution to Winthrop University, the paper reported.
Between 2005 and 2010, Walker created fake invoices from fictitious customers. His department overran its budget for four years, an internal auditor for the university told the court. In April of 2010, Walker left the school. An audit shortly after revealed the deception.
