Valtim Expands Personalized Offerings with New High-Speed Ricoh InfoPrint 5000 Press (Includes Video)
MALVERN, PA—September 24, 2014—Ricoh Americas today announced that Valtim, a multichannel marketing and fulfillment provider supporting some of the largest organizations in America, has expanded its portfolio and increased its digital printing efficiency by implementing the market-leading InfoPrint 5000 GP continuous-feed inkjet print platform. Since installing Ricoh’s InfoPrint 5000, Valtim has achieved higher throughput on diverse papers, shortened its service level agreement (SLA) run time by up to two weeks and integrated real-time, personalized messaging.
Valtim has 40 customers and will produce nearly 20 million mailings and ship 175,000 pick and pack orders this year. The company provides a wide range of integrated services including creative services, product and literature fulfillment, interactive media and variable data printing—all aimed at helping clients grow and succeed in their targeted markets. Valtim selected the InfoPrint 5000 for its flexibility and ability to enable new customized applications that were not possible with its previous installation. The InfoPrint 5000 platform empowered Valtim to transition to a white paper factory, more efficiently producing variable data and personalized communications on a wider variety of media.

“Ricoh is the greatest investment the company has made. With their commitment to training and services, they’re integrated into our team, so they’re part of the Valtim family now,” said David Baldree, director of operations at Valtim. “We’re always striving to understand and manage a customer’s message and deliver it in as many ways as possible through multichannel media. With the InfoPrint 5000, we now have the technology to help spread our customers’ messages even further.”
The InfoPrint 5000 GP platform, the flagship solution of Ricoh’s continuous feed portfolio which now also includes the Ricoh Pro VC6000, is designed to integrate with existing environments and ease the transition to inkjet technology. It offers full-color duplex printing at speeds of up to 420-feet-per-minute, allowing for fully-customized messaging. Its unique imaging technology jets variable drop sizes for each pixel on the page at 2 bits per spot, and offers a suite of ink estimation tools for more efficient ink use. The InfoPrint 5000 also employs stochastic screening and is Pantone PLUScertified, giving users an ever-increasing range of color possibilities and more vibrant output, with a resolution of 1,440 dpi. The platform also offers an Extended Media Dryer, which enables Valtim to print on coated papers using dye-pigmented inks.
In addition to the InfoPrint 5000, Ricoh also provides Valtim with integrated sales support training and service support, helping to ensure that they receive comprehensive guidance and training long after the initial installation and are able to market the benefits of its new installation to its customers effectively.
“Valtim's commitment to deliver engaging and high-quality services to their customers and end users made the InfoPrint 5000 GP a perfect tool in improving their print operations, and ultimately expanding the applications they're able to offer,” relayed Andre Brazeau, vice president, Production Print Solutions, Ricoh Americas. “Our relationship with Valtim was based on more than simply selling hardware. We truly valued the opportunity to work side-by-side with their team to help successfully transition to inkjet and explore and capitalize on the opportunities that the InfoPrint 5000 has opened for them.”
