MONTPELIER, VT—An investigation by police and the U.S. Secret Service helped nab a woman who has been charged with printing and using counterfeit money, according to WPTZ-TV Channel 5 in Plattsburgh, VT.
According to WPTZ, Loretta Barclay, 36, used the money in the area of Montpelier and Rutland in Vermont. Investigators have retrieved most of the money but believe there may still be some $10 and $20 bills in circulation.
In another case, police in Alexandria, VA, charged a 15-year-old boy with access device fraud after he allegedly printed a $20 bill on a computer, the Associated Press reported. The boy tried to pass the money by getting change from a man on the street.
