TobeDirect Opens New Print and Mailing Facility in Illinois
LOUISVILLE, KY—August 16, 2012—TobeDirect Inc., one of the nation’s leading direct marketing firms, has outgrown its former space in Illinois and has opened a new state-of-the art mailing and print facility in Bolingbrook, IL, to accommodate its stratospheric growth.
Founded by John Tobe in 1998, the company specializes in turnkey direct mail programs and cross-media campaigns. It offers innovative one-to-one marketing campaigns with personal, targeted offers driven by end-user buying patterns, allowing clients to connect with customers on a more direct, personal level. TobeDirect's portfolio of clients includes some of the most recognizable consumer brands in the world.
“We’ve been aggressively expanding our business for the past three years, but 2011 was our breakout year—we grew 87 percent,” reported Tobe, founder and CEO. “One of our reasons for this astounding growth was due to a major award from a Fortune 50 account for its direct mail postcard business. We were awarded a multiyear contract, which really boosts our requirement for production throughput and added capacity. We needed more space and more output capability, and that is what this facility is all about.”
The new facility is 300 percent larger than the company’s previous facility in the area, with double the storage space for customer product. It has capacity to output 1.5 million pieces per day.
“Also, the equipment housed in the new facility is all state-of-the-art print and production equipment designed to support direct marketers. It really is an outstanding facility, and we're very proud of it,” noted Tobe.
In describing the operation, Terry Berg, vice president of manufacturing, pointed out that, “we do millions of direct mail pieces a month, from variable digital four-color postcards to very unique personalized promotions. Our volumes run from a few hundred, up to several million pieces per job.”
“We've invested in black-and-white and color digital presses, all with VDP workflow solutions designed specifically for direct mailers. We're expanding to meet demand,” added Tobe.
