Times Litho Buys Moore Lithograph
PORTLAND, OR—In a move to enter the Portland sheetfed market, Forest Grove, OR-based Times Litho—a heatset web printer— has acquired the assets of Moore Lithograph, a sheetfed printer.
Moore Litho has been in the sheetfed market for more than 40 years. Moore's equipment mix includes both six-color and two-color 40˝ sheetfed presses. They have a complete bindery and employ 15 people.
All Moore employees were retained and both printers will continue to operate from their existing facilities.
The acquisition comes after nine months of negotiations. To complete the transaction, Times Litho created the TL2 subsidiary. The combined companies will have sales in excess of $15 million and employ approximately 100.
"We have been looking for an opportunity to enter the Portland sheetfed market for quite some time," explains Bill Beckwith, president and CEO of Times Litho.
"The acquisition of Moore Litho accomplishes that. Now we have a dynamic presence right in the middle of one of the country's largest print-buying centers.
"The acquisition allows us to offer Times Litho customers high-end sheetfed printing, and the Moore Litho customers can now take advantage of our webs and mailing expertise," he adds.
