Times Leader to Spend $700K to Upgrade Its Wilkes-Barre, PA, Facility
WILKES-BARRE, PA—September 4, 2014—Civitas Media, parent company of The Times Leader Media Group, will invest nearly $700,000 in upgrades and electrical work at its Market Street production facility, reported The Times Leader.
The newspaper and its sister publications, starting with the Sept. 30 edition, will be the same size as The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer, USA Today and other local newspapers. Pages that formerly needed to be stretched to fit The Times Leader's wide pages will be more proportionally sound, the newspaper revealed.
"These improvements dovetail with other investments we've made locally, such as a redesign of our print newspaper and Website," said General Manager Walt Lafferty.
Civitas said there will not be an interruption in production during the conversion. The new upgrades will allow The Times Leader Media Group to solicit work from new clients.
