Shutterfly Inc. Reports Cyber Attack on Its Websites, Possibly Compromising E-mails, Passwords
SANTA CLARA, CA—December 2, 2014—Tiny Prints, a Shutterfly Inc. brand and online stationery boutique, recently reported a criminal cyber-attack on the Tiny Prints, Treat, and Wedding Paper Divas Websites. The attack may have exposed the e-mail addresses and encrypted passwords used by its customers to login to their accounts. However, the company encrypts customer credit and debit card information, and said it has no evidence that such information was compromised.
However, Tiny Prints is encouraging its customers, as a precautionary measure, to change their passwords, and has already taken steps to protect their information. "We are working with leading security experts to investigate and improve the security of our systems, and we are working with federal law enforcement to assist their investigation of the incident," the company wrote on its Website.
A 'Customer Q&A' section has been posted on the Tiny Prints Website regarding the possible data breach.
