Robert F. Reed Technology Medal Call for Nominations
PITTSBURGH--September 30, 2008--Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF) is seeking to honor an outstanding engineer, scientist, or researcher in the printing industry. Nominations for the Robert F. Reed Technology Medal are due October 31, 2008.
Established in 1974, this award perpetuates the memory of Robert F. Reed (1905-1973), "Dean of Lithography." Reed's contributions to the understanding of the lithographic processes and materials were perhaps the most significant and important made by any man of his time. Past recipients of the Reed Medal include Richard McKrell, Tony Johnson, Robert Bassemir, Harold Gegenheimer, and Michael Bruno.
Selection Criteria:1) A candidate must be a technically- or scientifically-oriented person who has worked as an engineer or a scientist in the graphic communications industry for a period of ten years or more.
