MELVILLE, NY—For the second time this year, the printing industry is losing a significant member of the B2B publishing set. Cygnus Graphics Media has decided to suspend printing of Printing News, a weekly title serving commercial printers, print brokers and media service providers in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
The move is part of Cygnus' decision to revamp its regional print strategy, according to Publisher Kelley Holmes. Printing News, founded in 1928 and printed 50 times a year, was one of the remaining non-association regional publications. Cygnus also publishes Quick Printing and Wide-format Imaging, which are national magazines.
In April, Reed Business (RBI) suspended publication of Graphic Arts Monthly.
