Hall of Famer Touts Large-Format Presses
NORTH BERGEN, NJ—Edison Litho & Printing embarked on its “The Future of Your Business is with Edison Litho” theme at the recent GlobalShop show to promote the large-format printing capabilities of its two six-color, 81˝ KBA Rapida 205 sheetfed presses. Edison also showed visitors examples of plastic, canvas, lenticular and styrene substrates that can be printed on the Rapida 205 presses.
While at the booth, visitors got the chance to meet Dan Hampton, a retired Hall of Fame Chicago Bears football defensive tackle and current radio personality. Hampton signed calendars depicting former teammate William “The Refrigerator” Perry, Edison’s celebrity endorser at last year’s GlobalShop event. Hampton attracted long lines of well-wishers and fans who were also greeted by Edison’s management team.

STUART, FL—Southeastern Printing was selected by Sappi Fine Paper North America to test their latest product, Tempo, which is being touted as the fastest ink setting and ink drying coated free sheet in the North American market. As a Sappi 2007 “Printer of the Year” (Silver winner) and Sappi “Top 100” winner in 2008, Southeastern was the only Florida company Sappi considered to perform the trial.
Marketed as a paper that is so quick setting that “a two-sided sheet is ready for bindery twice as fast as standard coated paper,” Tempo was tested on Southeastern’s six-color, 40˝ Heidelberg Speedmaster CD press. “I was quite impressed with the Tempo substrate testing,” reports Robert Scott, Southeastern’s pressroom manager. “We were able to cut [the paper] in 20 minutes without any issues. This product could be a powerful weapon for us.”
