Printer Honors Employee for 65 Years of Service
WAYNESBORO, VA—Sept. 20, 2012—Woody Huffman was recently honored at a luncheon for his 65 years of service at McClung Companies. Tom Trevillian, McClung’s president and CEO, congratulated Huffman for his extraordinary career, which has ranged from positions as pressman to plant manager and delivery person.
Huffman's deceased first wife Maxine helped him get his job at McClung soon after the company was founded, as she was the sister of the owner Charles McClung. When Charles died in 1971, he became general manager.
In 1988, Huffman decided to retire, but found that he needed something to keep him busy. He came back to McClung part-time in the delivery department, where he still works today.
“Woody has taught us all a great work ethic and devotion to the graphic arts,” said Trevillian. His “get it done” attitude is still evident today in the long-term McClung employees that he trained.
In honor of Huffman’s service to McClung, the pressroom has been named the M.E. Huffman Building.
