NY Communications Firm May Lay Off 76 Workers, Move Its Print Operations to Missouri, Connecticut
ALBANY, NY—July 8, 2014—Newkirk Products, a provider of marketing communications for financial and healthcare companies based here, announced that 76 print product jobs may potentially be cut by the end of the year, reported the Albany Business Review.
According to the Review, a spokeswoman from Newkirk's parent company, DST, a processing and software company based in Kansas City, MO, 148 employees will continue to work at the Newkirk operation in Albany.
Newkirk plans to relocate its publishing/printing production operations to offices in Kansas City, MO, and South Windsor, CT, with layoffs expected to begin in October and finish before January 2015, according to the company filing.
It has not been announced yet whether employees will be offered positions at the Kansas City, MO, or South Windsor, CT, locations, the newspaper reported.
