New Plant, Equipment for Suttle-Straus
WAUNAKEE, WI—Suttle-Straus has completed the expansion of its facility here and has added production previously done at its downtown Madison location.
The company christened its new capacity—which gives the plant 116,000 square feet of space—by installing a pair of Mitsubishi presses with a price tag of $6 million. One is a six-unit Diamond 8 web press, the other a six-color, 40˝ sheetfed model equipped with in-line coating.
Production was slated to end at the Madison plant on April 15, with all administrative and production employees housed at the newly expanded facility. The company employs in excess of 150 people working on three shifts.
Suttle-Straus was created following the July 2001 merger of Suttle Press and Straus Printing. It specializes in corporate communications, direct mail, advertising materials, publications and multicolor printing.
