Mac ARM Support for Ultimate Impostrip Imposition Software
Ultimate TechnoGraphics, leader in imposition and finishing automation solutions, is pleased to announce Mac ARM support for Ultimate Impostrip imposition software starting with version 2022.2 onwards.
This hardware change is a huge shift for Mac, as they are moving away from Intel components and replacing them with their own technology. Most recent Mac software packages can run on ARM but are not native to it. Ultimate Impostrip users now have the option to run natively on ARM or continue to use the Intel version – both options are available.
With the latest Ultimate Impostrip release, Mac users can now benefit from Ultimate Impostrip running native on ARM for faster processing. After running through a very carefully monitored testing and benchmarking cycle, the Ultimate TechnoGraphics development team measured an average productivity increase of up to 38% while running native on ARM*.
“Given that Apple have only just got started with their ARM development, it’s of real benefit to our customers to already see such a nice improvement in speed” says Andrew Bailes-Collins, Head of Product Management at Ultimate TechnoGraphics. “As many of our customers have already purchased Apple ARM computers, they can realize the benefit of that investment by simply upgrading to this latest Ultimate Impostrip version."
Ultimate Impostrip 2022 has delivered this year many key performance upgrades including a new and powerful Scalable Job Manager, ability to run as a Windows service, new status API, Job Priorities, enhanced connectivity capabilities via Ultimate Imposition Control Language (UICL) and XML for Redirection, integration of the latest v18 Adobe PDF Library, Optimized Imposition Intelligence, and much more.
Ultimate Impostrip 2022.2 can be seen at Printing United Expo booth #N848 and will be released in Q4 of this year.
*Speed comparison measured against the same file set running on the same Apple computer using Rosetta emulation. Speed improvements dependent on configuration and processed files.
