KANSAS CITY, MO—Lifetouch Services, a subsidiary of Lifetouch Inc. that provides yearbook and general commercial printing services, will lay off 244 employees from its facility here as it moves its production operations to Loves Park, IL, the Kansas City Business Journal reported.
Rolling layoffs, which will start at the end of August, will impact 75 full-time and 169 seasonal employees. Full-time workers have been offered transfers to the Illinois plant.
Lifetouch Services Vice President Kelvin Miller told the newspaper that the move is being made to gain more operational efficiencies. Approximately 25 positions will be maintained in Kansas City, related to customer service and IT.
