Solar Panels – Oppenweiler, Germany
Harnessing Solar Energy Worldwide
At our headquarters in Oppenweiler, Germany, and production site in Portugal, solar power is at the heart of our energy strategy.
- Two photovoltaic systems already power key operations in Germany, with two more slated for installation between 2024 and 2025.
- In Portugal, rooftops are fully equipped with solar panels to power day-to-day production with clean energy.
And we're proud to share that MBO America's Marlton, NJ facility is already outfitted with solar panels, contributing to our sustainability efforts right here in the U.S. It’s an important first step as we continue to explore additional green initiatives locally.
Electromobility & Greener Transportation in Europe
In Germany, our headquarters now operates with an all-electric vehicle fleet, supported by on-site EV charging stations. Employees are also encouraged to reduce emissions through subsidized public transportation and a popular “Job Bike” program, offering access to bicycles and e-bikes, with charging infrastructure in place.

Plastic-Free Packaging
Across our European locations, we’ve eliminated plastic in our packaging and filler materials—replacing them with innovative, eco-friendly alternatives that reduce waste without compromising protection.
Community Engagement and Responsibility
Sustainability at MBO also means giving back. Our European teams regularly support local charities, engage in open dialogue with their communities, and lead donation initiatives that align with our values.

We’re proud that all three of our global regions—Germany, Portugal, and the United States—are now contributing to our renewable energy goals.
