Hederman Brothers Expands Wide-Format Capabilities with Durst and Zünd
Hederman Brothers is expanding its Wide Format capabilities with the addition of a Durst P5 350 HS industrial inkjet printer and a Zünd G3 3XL-3200 digital cutting system. The new equipment will significantly increase production capacity and automation as the company prepares to move its Wide Format operations into a new 20,000-square-foot facility adjacent to its Madison headquarters.
The Durst P5 350 HS will be the first of its kind installed in Mississippi and represents a major increase in speed and production capacity for Hederman Brothers. The hybrid printer is designed for high-volume production across both rigid and roll-to-roll applications.
"This investment is about giving our customers more capacity, faster turnaround times and even more options for their projects," said Doug Hederman, President and CEO of Hederman Brothers. "We have experienced tremendous growth in Wide Format, and the Durst and Zünd give our team the technology and automation we need to continue that growth while maintaining the quality our customers expect from us."
Complementing the Durst is a Zünd G3 3XL-3200 digital cutting system with a 126-inch by 125-inch cutting area and tandem production capabilities. The system can cut, route and crease a wide range of materials, while its tandem configuration allows production to continue while materials are being loaded and unloaded. Together, the Durst and Zünd will create a more integrated workflow from printing through cutting and finishing.
"The combination of the Durst and Zünd changes what we can do from a production standpoint," said Brad Stevens, President of Wide Format. "We'll be able to print faster, automate more of the finishing process and keep jobs moving with fewer manual steps. Combined with the new facility, it gives us the capacity and technology to continue growing for years to come."
The new facility will include approximately 6,500 square feet of Wide Format production space, 2,750 square feet of dedicated vehicle wrapping bays capable of accommodating an 80-foot tractor-trailer, and approximately 8,000 square feet of warehouse and fulfillment space.
Bringing Wide Format onto the main campus will more closely integrate Hederman Brothers' commercial printing, direct mail, signage, vehicle graphics and fulfillment capabilities, giving customers access to a broader range of services from a single partner.
