Graphic Edge Installing Landmark Packaging Press
MILWAUKEE—Graphic Edge Printing and Packaging, a commercial and package printer in metro Milwaukee, will take delivery this month of a new five-color, six-up Ryobi press custom configured to accommodate up to 31-pt. board for package printing.
It will be the first U.S. installation of the 31˝ Ryobi 755XL-D Packaging Edition offset press—which was selected by Graphic Edge over several six-up offerings from German and Japanese press manufacturers based on Ryobi’s entry price and low total operating cost. The new press will be among the spotlighted topics at the Ryobi MHI Open House May 7-8 in metro Atlanta.
The new Ryobi Packaging Edition press features automatic deployment and retraction of transfer drums to accommodate stocks ranging from onion skin to heavy board stock. It also features a special heavy-duty feeder, as well as an air-guide system to ‘float’ sheets through the 16,000 sph press without marking. Ryobi’s Smart Makeready technology drives makereadies down to six minutes.
The press was sold by Ryobi distributor Graphco in Cleveland and its partner, Guaranteed Service and Supplies in West Bend, WI. Graphic Edge owner Dale Skinkis runs the 18-employee, $3 million revenue company with his wife, Dawn. They also own four Digital Edge Copy and Print Centers in metro Milwaukee.
