CHICAGO—September 6, 2011—In observance of the 10th Anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, and to honor the memory of those who perished on that day, GRAPH EXPO will conduct a remembrance ceremony in the Grand Concourse of McCormick Place on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011.
This ceremony will take place in unison with a national moment of silence (at 1:00 pm EST) as prescribed by U.S. Federal Government.
All attendees and exhibitors are invited to participate.
Remembrance Ceremony schedule:
- At 11:45 a.m., a single bagpiper will lead our Color Guard through the Exhibit Hall to the Grand Concourse.
- The Color Guard will remain in Grand Concourse during the moment of silence, which will be announced, and begin at 12:00 noon (CST), coinciding with the (1:00 pm EST) national observance.
- Concluding the moment of silence, at 12:01 pm, Commander Carmelita Earls (Chicago Fire Department) will sing the U.S. National Anthem.
- Following the National Anthem, the Color Guard, led by the bagpiper will depart the Grand Concourse of McCormick Place, signaling the conclusion of the ceremony.
Remembrance lapel pins will be provided at GRAPH EXPO Registration on Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 for show attendees and exhibitors who choose to affix them to their name badges.
