Gold Ink Awards Entry: It's All In the 'Visual Appeal'
PHILADELPHIA—June 5, 2015—This 2015 Gold Ink Awards entry, titled "Visual Appeal" was entered into the Digital Printing, Marketing Collateral Category by Kelvyn Press in Broadview, Illinois. What makes this piece stand out are the eye-catching images and the effects used—soft touch laminate, spot UV varnish and silver foil.
The marketing piece was produced on a MGI Meteor 8700 XL digital press, a MGI Jet Varnish and an I-Foil solution for hot-foil stamping and embossing. The paper used was Xpedx 100 # Endurance cover and MGI's four-color process toner was also used. Binding and finishing of the piece consisted of a standard cut, fold, and stitch in two passes.
According to Tony Malacina, owner and vice president of operations, the first run press run was 220 booklets and the company is now printing 1,200 more booklets.
