Fire Strikes Graphic Packaging Board Press in Fort Smith, AR; No Injuries Reported
FORT SMITH, AR—A fire was reported at Graphic Packaging on 10300 Roberts Blvd., at Chaffee Crossing in Fort Smith, AR, Monday morning, and the Fort Smith Fire Department responded to the scene. No injuries were reported and the building was evacuated, according to the Southwest Times Record.
There was no structural damage to the building. Fort Smith Fire Department Battalion Chief Boyd Waters said that cardboard in one of the company's printers may have been the cause of the fire, reported the Southwest Times Record.
“These are not normal size printers,” Waters said. “They’re about the size of a pumper truck.”
With headquarters in Atlanta, and locations throughout the globe, the company's Fort Smith, AR, location employs more than 350 people.
